Toothaches are normally caused by damage, decay, infection, or inflamed gums. Depending on the severity of the cause, toothaches can range from very mild to extreme. For quick pain relief, over-the-counter pain medications such as Ibuprofen can provide a temporary solution. Applying a cold ice pack to the area can also help to reduce any swelling.

Toothaches should not be ignored as the can worsen over time if not attended to. Even minor infections can develop into serious gum disease and affect the jawbone.

Seeking immediate treatment for a missing tooth will provide the best chance of saving the tooth. If this is not possible, there are a number of options we can offer to fill that gap.
